1. Political video Remix. ZEMOS98 is a action group of cultural creation and production with an international scope. ZEMOS98’s team is expert of communications and internet pictures and sounds technology. This technology is a place for communication, learning and creation. [Workshop ONLY in Spanish]
2. Using Twitter. Nathaniel Ashford , ActionAid e-communications manager. This new channel aims to stimulate debates around participatory democracy as well as the use of voting. “Why vote” twitter channel will gather local debates in order to present and to share the different point of views. [Workshop done in the 4 languages of the project: ESP, ENG, ITA, GRE]

09h00 New tactical media for local political participation
David Casacuberta - professor of philosophy of science - Universidad Autònoma de Barcelona. Trànsit Projectes.
New smartphones prepared with cameras, internet access and Global Positioning System are the perfect tools to improve local political participation, facilitating movements from the real world to a virtual one, and back to the real world. This talk will present several case studies on how to use mobile phones to improve political participation as well as some methodological and strategical hints on how to use them for such purposes.

1. “Online community of practice for an emerging European civil society.” Jim Seger – City Mine(d)
The online community of practice consists of a collaboration side, where people share ideas, opinions and experience and a showcase side, where people show to each other and the outside world who they are, what they do and when. Proposed instruments to facilitate the community : real time collaboration: chat, instant messaging, whiteboard and discussion table ; voting and survey to get quick responses and idea of support for proposals ; collaborative documents: googledocs, wiki to write together and produce text with shared vision. [Workshop done in the 4 languages of the project: ESP, ENG, ITA, GR]
2. “Virtual European Parialement”. Mark De Colvenaer
The objective of the project is to successfully create a public room – the Virtual European Parliament - for debate between citizens and decision makers (i.c. MEP’s) in EC. The results of the project will contribute to the objective in i2010 to create a single European information space with increased knowledge about how to bring citizens and decision makers together in dialogue and debate. Our project will also contribute to an improved legislative process by successfully bringing citizens and decision makers together.[Workshop ONLY in English]
